Lovely dense mid purple the nose has massive energy but not yet much detail. Then such an explosion of riotous fruit joyously ripe pinot but still pure pinot. A little touch of menthol behind the ripe cherry notes with raspberry chaser. Amazing length. Very fine indeed.

Vinous: 95-97 Points

The 2020 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru has an exquisite bouquet with beautifully-defined brambly red fruit undergrowth and minerals an oyster shell scent becoming more intense with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with chalky tannins lightly spiced with a harmonious and cohesive finish that has real body and depth. Outstanding. (Drink between 2027-2060)

Wine Advocate: 93-96+ Points

One of the more reserved wines in the range on the day of my visit was the 2020 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru (Domaine Louis Jadot) a full-bodied concentrated and vibrant wine evocative of red berries pomegranate sweet spices and rose petals. Deep and tightly wound it will reward further élevage and bottle age as the raw materials are of obviously high quality.

Wine Spectator: 94 Points

A solidly structured yet fluid red marked by concentrated flavors of cherry black currant tobacco earth and mineral. Shows fine balance and vibrant acidity keeping the flavors defined and ushering them through the long resonant finish. Best from 2026 through 2043. ?B.S.
