Jasper Morris: 94 Points
Slightly paler than the other Meursault 1ers Crus with an appealing refined herbal nose complex more than powerful but then it builds on the palate without in anyway losing the refinement. Chiselled fresh complex citrus notes a little apple too alongside the herbs something of everything.

Outstanding Producer note: As is his wont Rémi Jobard had little to say about the 2022 vintage other than briefly noting "the season was definitely hot and dry with maturities that developed rapidly. As such we picked early which is to say from the 1st of September and brought in yields that were about the same as we obtained in 2019. Potential alcohols ranged from 13 to 13.5% and were accompanied by average acidities. Stylistically I find the reds to reflect the warmth of the season but for reasons that I don't pretend to understand not the whites. In fact the whites have such good verve freshness and terroir transparency that you don't think that they were produced by such a warm vintage." Jobard further noted that as of the 2020 vintage all the wines are now shipped with wax capsules. Lastly I would observe that while Jobard always makes at least very good whites he has again done a fine job in 2022. Tasting note: Pretty and airy aromas of exotic jasmine tea spice Granny Smith apple and plenty of floral nuances. Here the texture of the elegant middleweight flavors is at once generous yet refined while displaying excellent punch on the mineral-driven balanced and sneaky long finale. While this is sufficiently forward that it could be enjoyed young it has the potential to repay up to a decade of keeping so a happy medium would be to wait for 5-ish or so years. Lovely.
