John Gilman: 93 Points
The premier cru of Clos Prieur is usually one of the more black fruity wines in Gevrey, but the Rossignol brothers’ 2020 version is again beautifully infused with red fruity tones on both the nose and palate. The wine offers up an aromatic constellation of cherries, red plums, a touch of strawberry, dark soil tones, grilled meats, lovely spice elements, mustard seed and a touch of new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, focused and nicely structured, with a fine core of fruit, excellent soil signature, ripe, buried tannins and a long, poised and very promising finish. This will demand some cellaring time to blossom, but it is going to be a top notch example of the vintage! (Drink between 2033-2085)
