Wafting from the glass with notes of citrus oil pear green apple white flowers and freshly baked bread the 2022 Meursault Les Tessons is medium to full-bodied satiny and fleshy with a layered core of fruit bright acids and a long minty finish. At this early stage it's somewhat reminiscent of the domaine's 2017 vintage. The 2022 vintage has turned out very nicely at Domaine Pierre Morey where Anne Morey presides over this 11-hectare benchmark estate. Farming is organic certified as such since 1992. Whites are fermented with a healthy amount of lees in barrel seeing two winters on the lees and reds (where Anne has really raised the level) are destemmed seeing classical macerations. In both colors the Morey style eschews extremes whether of late or early picking or extraction or infusion to produce some of the region's most classic wines. Published: Jan 18 2024

2022 suits the classic monastic style of Tesson thinks Anne as the sunny season has softened the stricter side of this vineyard. Clear pale lemon. A very complete bouquet with a delicious second wave of fruit apple and plum together and a long racy finish. Very fine. A splendid aftertaste as there was clearly no stress here in this cooler site. A cool elegant and more floral-suffused nose displays notes of essence of pear spice and a hint of fennel. I very much like the texture of the succulent and caressing medium weight flavors that exude a refreshing salinity on the balanced and sneaky long bone-dry finale. This sappy effort is relatively powerful and also quite tightly wound indeed it will need every bit of a decade of realize its full and considerable potential. Highly recommended. Vinous: 90-92 Points
The 2022 Meursault Les Tessons comes from shallower soils than the Les Terres Blanches roots hitting the limestone bedrock after 30 or 40cm. That "calcaire" comes through on the well-defined minerally nose - not powerful but focused. The palate is well-balanced with a lightly spiced core veins of stem ginger and lemongrass developing with time in the glass. (Drink between 2025 - 2036). By Neal Martin 1/1/2024
