The 2022 Meursault Charmes 1er Cru has a complex bouquet with enticing scents of lemon verbena chamomile and orchard fruit and a light nuttiness in the background. The ell-balanced palate has a fine bead of acidity a light veneer of acacia honey and a hint of ginger. Harmonious with real weight and elegance towards the finish. This is a beautifully crafted Meursault that should age effortlessly over the next 15-20 years. (Drink between 2026-2042)

A pretty lemon yellow. The soft warmth of Charmes is evident on the nose. One might say oaky but of course there is no new wood here. Significant power afterwards and then the acidity which is usually present chez Matrot. Good stuff.
