Slightly funky but brimming with blossom and berry aromas this is concentrated finely etched and super-mineral with a breathtaking finish that makes you think you are drinking slate. Drinkable now but best from 2023.

The 2020 Niederberg Helden Riesling GG is pure and intense on the clear and complex nose that reveals more precision and elegance than it did four days earlier in a blind tasting of 2020 Riesling crus from all of Germany. The wine is very elegant and balanced in its lush and sensual character and reveals a compact very intense and finely structured finish. Powerful but fine and finessed this is an excellent 2020 Riesling from the Mosel. Tasted in Wiesbaden in August 2021.
