Fragrant and loaded with finesse and intensity the classy 2019 Monteraponi Baron?Ugo offers enticing scents of violet eucalyptus and woodland berry. A blend of 95% Sangiovese 2.5% Colorino and 2.5% Canaiolo the delicious vibrant palate displays succulent red cherry wild strawberry blood orange and spice before a salty close. Reflecting the stellar vintage Radda and the scrupulous delicate hand of estate owner and winemaker Michele Braganti it?s elegant and compelling and offers serious aging potential. Drink 2025?2044. The 2019 Baron'Ugo is sourced from a vineyard established in 1974 among the first vines planted by Antonio Braganti when he purchased the property. It sits at 560 meters in elevation which is a positive now but could not have been at the time. Baron'Ugo is distinguished by its red-toned fruit along with hints of iron leather white pepper mint and blood orange that gradually open in the glass adding considerable nuance throughout. The 2019 spent three years in cask. This is Radda turbocharged to the maximum. But readers have to be patient as the 2019 is pretty austere today. (Drink between 2026-2039)
