I had a good feeling about this wine when I last tasted it but felt it needed a little more bottle ageing. It is certainly showing wonderfully well here lunching at The Ledbury. A very deep garnet colour. A lifted cedar and pencil-lead nose blackberry leaf charcoal and finally a hint of cold black tea. The palate is full-bodied with superb balance vibrant acidity plump black fruits one of those St. Estephe wines that gets the saliva flowing but easing up nicely towards the precise dry finish.
