The NV Extra Brut Petit Meslier is fabulous. Rich and effusive the Petit Meslier exudes tremendous aromatic intensity and depth. Yellow flowers mint spice lemon confit and marzipan are some of the many notes that soar out of the glass. All the elements are so well balanced. There's tons of depth and vinous intensity here. Best of all the Petit Meslier is a total knock-out. This release is 50% 2019 40% 2018 and 10% 2017. Dosage is 2 grams per liter. Disgorged: December 2021. - By Antonio Galloni on November 2022 There?s a lot to explore in these new releases from Laherte. Most of the wines are a bit softer than usual which is probably a reflection of the warmer base vintages in many of the bottlings. What I admire most about these Champagnes is their purity and singularity of expression. Varietal and site character are always front and center. Organic/biodynamic farming and a minimalist approach in the cellar inform these wonderfully distinctive Champagnes. It?s next to impossible to choose favorites in this range.
vBased on the 2018 vintage with some 40% reserve wines from 2017 the NV Extra-Brut Petit Meslier comes from young vines in Chavot. Offering up generous aromas of pear honeyed orchard fruit buttered toast and nuts it's medium to full-bodied with an impressively satiny attack for this variety and an unsurprisingly racy spine of acidity. It's more than just a curio.
