Fine mid purple. The Pre-Colombière blend is showing much the best of the three village Vosne-Romanées today very perfumed with an agreeable depth of fruit. An exquisite balance and precision and fruit building to the back of the palate. It is very sensual throughout with a very pretty finish. Perfect village Vosne in a floral style. - By Jasper Morris
The 2022 Vosne-Romanée Cuvée Précolombière takes its name from a contraction of the three lieux-dits Mugneret assembles in this blend: Pré de la Folie Commune and Colombière. Unwinding in the glass with aromas of dark berries cherries exotic spices potpourri and raw cocoa it's medium to full-bodied layered and concentrated with plenty of refined structure to burn. - By William Kelley
The 2022 Vosne-Romanée Selection Pre-Colombière is more backward on the nose with earthy red fruit laced with green tea and light marine scents that incrementally gain intensity in the glass though never fully let go. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins and good depth. It?s a little more muscular than the Aux Vigneux with more substance on the finish. Give this 2-3 years in bottle. (Drink between 2026 - 2038). - By Neal Martin
A discreet if still perceptible application of wood sets off more deeply pitched aromas of violet plum red and dark currant and a beautiful range of spice elements. There is better volume and richness to the punchy and attractively textured middleweight flavors that conclude in a dusty youthfully austere and balanced finish that could also use better depth so some patience should be helpful. (Drink starting 2030)
