The fruit of a sharecropping agreement with Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg in lieu-dit Quartiers de Nuits Mugneret's 2022 Echézeaux Grand Cru wafts from the glass with aromas of plums and raspberries mingled with incense smoke exotic spices and orange zest. The 2022 Echézeaux Grand Cru has a crystalline bouquet with energetic red cherries raspberry and crushed stone scents becoming more floral with aeration - rose petals and iris flowers. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. It is quite structured and maybe a little austere yet it will flesh out during the remainder of its élevage and there is a lovely pepperiness on the finish. Excellent. Once again an expressive nose is exceptionally spicy with a cornucopia of aromas that include hoisin soy orange peel sandalwood jasmine tea plum and red and dark pinot fruit. There is again a highly beguiling texture to the energetic if not super-dense medium weight flavors that exhibit solid power on the balanced lengthy and more complex finale that is just a bit more structured.
