Deep red purple. The bouquet is complex on the cusp between red and black with a bit of spice deep through the palate tannins present but nicely folded in with good length. This is precise and in place.
There is a lovely freshness to the bright aromas of red currant plum earth and floral top notes. The rich and caressing but quite punchy medium weight flavors terminate in a youthfully austere complex and firm finale. This is terrific for its level and Bourgogne doesn't get a lot better. The 2022 Bourgogne Les Rouges Champs offers up aromas of plums spices orange zest and smoke followed by a medium to full-bodied fleshy and supple palate that's bright and mouthwatering. As readers may remember it's derived from a parcel opposite the Clos de Vougeot.
