Emilien Feneuil’s single vineyard “les Ruisseaux” bottling is a Blanc de Noirs, as the wine is made entirely from pinot meunier growing in this lieu à dit in Sermiers. The 2019 version was disgorged in April of 2022. It offers up a deep and refined aromatic constellation of white peach, a touch of tangerine, fresh-baked bread, a fine base of chalky soil tones, just a touch of buttery oak and a lovely floral topnote redolent of the gentle and perfumed flowers one finds in pure Meunier wines. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focused and complex, with the gentle vinosity inherent in all of Monsieur Feneuil’s wines, a lovely core of fruit, excellent soil transparency, refined mousse and a long, complex and impeccably balanced finish.
