The Wine Independent: 96 Points

The 2022 Chardonnay Charles Heintz Vineyard Isobel shimmies out with energetic notes of lemon tart juicy grapefruit and yuzu followed by hints of lime blossom and sea spray. The medium-bodied palate is vibrant and refreshing with a crisp backbone and long minerally finish. This was picked on September 4 just before the heat. Andy Smith winegrower and

A very tight and focused white with sliced apples pears and some phenolics and botanicals. Medium- to full-bodied with tight and solid phenolic tension. Compact and fresh. Drink or hold.

Jeb Dunnuck: 95+ Points

A bright straw yellow hue the 2022 Chardonnay Charles Heintz Vineyard Isobel has a pretty and expressive nose of ripe pear flinty lift candied green apples and lime. Savory and inviting the palate offers medium to full body but has great persistence on its long finish. This wine provided a remarkable to start to my tasting of these wines from DuMOL. Drink 2024-2036. 1000 cases produced.

Wine Spectator: 94 Points

There's a lovely note of grilled lemon and melon at the core that expands into flavors of pomelo green apple lemongrass and lemon basil with a note of crunchy sea salt. Offers a firm juicy and exuberant frame with plenty of energy on the finish. Drink now. 1010 cases made.

Wine Advocate: 94 Points

The 2020 Chardonnay Isobel Charles Heintz Vineyard was harvested on September 12 and matured in larger 300- to 500-liter barrels. It opens with creamy new oak spices over baked peaches baklava beeswax and jasmine. The palate is full-bodied and very concentrated with a dense core of ripe honeyed fruits and balancing juicy acidity. It finishes with loads of flavor and a touch of phenolic texture that draws out its length. It's incredibly hedonistic and ideal for earlier drinking with all that gregarious fruit.
