The 2020 Brut Nature Chardonnay d'Oger Le Grand Jardin Grand Cru was picked in the 1967-planted parcel. Base wines fermented in oak and tirage occurred under natural cork. The smooth pliable scent of oak softens the nose with ripe yellow apple and gentle smoke. The palate is alive with vivid freshness a feat in 2020 colored with juicy yellow apple flesh brisk and bright with foamy bubbles that will benefit from some bottle age. The fruit is more pronounced and forward in the 2015 Champagne Grand Cru Le Grand Jardin Oger Brut Nature with notes of apricot and peach rings white flowers and a sunny but fresh feel. It has more pronounced larger bubbles on the palate but it finishes with clean citrus and green apple on the back end. Drink 2024-2042. Reviewed By Audrey Frick

Derived from a southeast-facing site of old massal selection planted in 1967 the 2020 Blanc de Blancs Oger Le Grand Jardin is one of the most dramatic wines in the range. Quentin Vincey told me that the clay component here is deeper (about 90 centimeters) and the site is less windy which combined with its exposure defines the personality of this rather gourmand blanc de blancs. Flamboyant and boldly expressive framed by maturation in oak (for 12 months 20% new) it wafts from the glass with aromas of yellow plum cedar and pastries mingling with ripe citrus fruit. Full-bodied enveloping and textural underpinned by succulent acids it?s easy to tell that you?ve left Le Mesnil and arrived in Oger.
