Jasper Morris: 91-93 Points
Grown on white sandy soil and vinified with 50% whole bunches. Medium deep purple rather reduced. 12.8% alcohol explains the discretion but there is a blacker tint to the fruit. Not too dry at the finish. As always more sombre than racy.

A more elegant cooler and spicier nose reflects notes of the pretty essence of red currant rose petal and a floral top note. The elegance continues on the palate of the nicely textured and quite punchy flavors that exude evident minerality on the sneaky long and moderately structured finish. As is usually the case this is a Nuits 1er of refinement and even a certain finesse. (Drink starting 2030)
Vinous: 90-92 Points
The 2020 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Thorey 1er Cru which has 50% whole bunch has a fleshy ripe and generous bouquet with macerated small red cherries and raspberry coulis. The palate is medium-bodied with soft and fleshy tannins quite Vosne-like in style with a rounded finish. It just needs a little more tension. Closure: Diam (Drink between 2024-2036)
