Jasper Morris: 91-94 Points
One third whole bunch 25% new wood. Pretty mid purple. Succulent fruit stands out more here than the sometimes more austere Grèves character. Rich intense deep cherry fruit with a sterner backbone in the mouth all the intensity is at the back. This has the focus that we expect from Grèves.

The 2019 Beaune 1er Cru Les Grèves wafts from the glass with aromas of plums red berries sweet spices and potpourri. Medium to full-bodied ample and charming with lively acids melting tannins and a pretty giving profile it will drink well with minimal bottle age.

A brooding and slightly grumpy nose reluctantly offers up an even more deeply pitched nose of cassis black cherry warm earth and spicy top notes. There is impressive richness and volume to the sappy and caressing yet powerful medium-bodied flavors that culminate in a beautifully long if ever-so-slightly rustic finish. This is one of those wines that is sufficiently structured to reward extended cellaring yet it's so rich that it should be accessible after only 5 or so years.

The 2019 Beaune Grèves 1er Cru includes around 50% whole cluster fruit. It is much more broody and backward on the nose compared to the Les Perrières the fruit slig
