Another wine I was able to taste multiple times the 2016 Château Dassault is 73% Merlot 22% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon that was brought up in 70% new oak. This deeply colored beauty boasts a rocking bouquet of crème de cassis and blackcurrant fruits intermixed with spice chocolate subtle oak and graphite. It's seamless and elegant on the palate with full-bodied richness terrific tannins and a great finish. In short it's a beautiful Saint Emilion that will keep for two decades.
This has dense dark fruit in a juicy mode with a strong array of ripe dark plums and quite dense tannins that really hold the finish in impressive style. Long sweet tannins bathed in dark-plum flavor. Try from 2022.
jdMedium to deep garnet-purple in color the 2016 Dassault gives up notions of crushed red and black currants black berries and warm plums plus suggestions of cedar chest yeast extract and garrigue. Medium-bodied the palate is vibrant and refreshing with a soft texture and loads of long-lingering black and red fruits on the finish.
The 2016 Dassault is a gorgeous wine. Plush deep and beautifully resonant the 2016 has so much to offer. A whole range of raspberry jam cedar espresso and white chocolate notes develop as this plush modern Saint-Émilion shows everything it's got. I would give the 2016 a few years in bottle to allow the tannins to soften. There is so much to like and admire here. Tasted two times. - By Antonio Galloni on December 2018
