Decanter: 93 Points

This silky classic Chambolle features bright pomegranate and cherry fruit scented with violets and peony and a hint of liquorice. It is surprisingly accessible out of barrel but does not lack depth or concentration. A bright lively acidity keeps this vibrant but there is nothing shrill. The grapes come from 90-year-old vines planted high on the slope above Bonnes-Mares next to the premier cru portion of the same vineyard owned by Ghislaine Barthod. The use of whole clusters and new casks are restrained allowing the fruit to express itself fully and deliciously. (Drink between 2024 - 2055)

Jasper Morris: 90-92 Points

Fine purple. The succulence of the fruit stands out here. Then rather tighter than expected with fresh acidity on the palate showing the leaner aspects of the hillside site. This may fill out more later on to earn a higher rating.

Vinous: 90-92 Points

The 2022 Chambolles-Musigny Les Veroilles has a very slight reduction as the gestating wine moves into its second winter in barrel (it will be racked soon). The open fresh palate offers dark berry fruit with light sous-bois scents fresh and saline with a poised quite linear finish. Well-crafted and classic in style. (Drink between 2025 - 2038)

Burghound: 89-91 Points

There is enough reduction present to mask the nuances of the fruit and floral notes. More interesting are the appealingly textured and vibrant middleweight flavors that are intensely mineral-driven and particularly so on the firmly austere and linear but not really strict finale. The mid-palate mouthfeel is lacy but the finale is firm compact and serious. (Drink starting 2028)

Wine Advocate: 90-91 Points

The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Les Veroilles opens in the glass with notes of sweet red berries cherries vine smoke and spices. Medium-bodied pure and fine-boned with a sweet core of fruit melting tannins and a sapid finish it derives from a high-altitude parcel above Bonnes Mares. - William Kelley 01/24

Jancis Robinson: 16.5+ Points

Cask sample. A little closed and tight on the nose/palate. But there is a lot of intensity and drive underneath. Dark-cherry fruit. Plenty of acidity. Good oak all very subtle and understated. (AWH) (Drink between 2025 - 2031) - Andy Howard MW
