Wine Advocate: 94-96 Points
The 2019 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru was showing brilliantly unwinding in the glass with notes of cassis plums dark chocolate exotic spices and rose petals. Full-bodied deep and elegantly muscular it's concentrated and multidimensional with lively acids powdery tannins and a sapid core of fruit. As usual it derives from Lachaux's holdings in the Quartier des Marei.
Burghound: 92-95 Points
A brooding and much less expressive nose grudgingly offers up notes of various dark berries warm earth discreet floral suggestions and a touch of plum. There is once again excellent volume to the dense serious and muscular larger-scaled flavors that retain a lovely sense of delineation while delivering first-rate length on the powerful focused and firmly structured finale. Patience. (Drink starting 2034)
