The ?classique' Gevrey (unlike the village-level Clos du Château) is a true 'cuvée ronde' that incorporates (this year) eight parcels from around the village including three premier crus. The initial attack shows pure expressive ripe cherry aromas with floral and earthy complexity. The ripe fruit continues on the palate; the wine is darker and more substantial than the Clos du Château while still showcasing the pleasantly light and fresh character of the vintage.
