When the vineyard was divided Alex got the reds at the top and Benoît the white in the middle and the red below. A deep and even purple. 60% whole bunch. Mixed red fruits on the nose darker berries and black pepper on the palate. The stems liven up the finish. 11/23
bhThe 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet La Cardeuse 1er Cru is two-thirds whole clusters this year. The whole bunches is very well assimilated on the nose the stems seamlessly integrated within the blackberry bilberry and strawberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chewy tannins on the entry. A rather broad-shouldered red Chassagne with a plummy seaweed-tinged finish. (Drink between 2025 - 2035). 01/24
This is aromatically similar to the old vines Chassagne blend if perhaps just a bit more elegant. The rich and notably more concentrated medium-bodied flavors possess a velvety texture along with fine length on the balanced and firm finale where a touch of bitter pit fruit slowly emerges. (Drink starting 2029). 06/24
Monopole. Old vines. 60% whole clusters. Cask sample. Mid ruby. Fresh nose of red fruits cherry strawberry raspberry et al. Brisk acidity tannins moderate but a little grippy. Freshness from the stems. (MH) (Drink between 2028 - 2038). 11/23
