Chichibu The FirstA is a single malt whisky created from eight casks– seven bourbon barrels and one Japanese Mizunara oak cask that has been bottled at cask strength (fifty-nine per cent alcohol by volume) to ensure maximum impact and flavor delivery. The First is only three years old but demonstrates richness and complexity beyond its youth a reflection of the local climate as well as a testament perhaps to the family history of Ichiro whose forebears have been making sake in Chichibu since 1625. The nose is fruity spicy with sweet vanilla upfront and the palate boasts sandalwood and Japanese incense with herbal notes."
