Ester Nin and Carles Ortiz are two very well accomplished wine students of Penedes and Barcelona that were drawn to Priorat. In Priorat their early careers landed them working for the famed Mas Martinet and Clos i Terrasses - aka Clos Erasmus. Here they were the hands-on forces that converted some of the most prized vineyards of Priorat to biodynamics. This led both to seek out old-vine vineyards for their own projects, which ultimately became their project together as a couple. 

100% estate produced, Nin-Ortiz today is a marvelous collection of older vineyards that are situated in cooler sub-zones of Priorat or located at the region's highest elevations. The range continues to grow and evolve as Nin and Ortiz grow with their vineyards and their winemaking. While some sites such as Planetes required significant replanting, Nin and Ortiz are harnessing some of the most aromatic and seductive expressions of Priorat today. 

Nin and Ortiz continue to release the most exciting and defining wines of Priorat today. Their Mas d’En Cacador bottling is a suave earthy and savory expression of Priorat that is complex and hard to resist. These are world-class wines and simply among the best of Priorat.
