Comando G Just Arrived
Massive Wine Advocate Scores AGAIN!
Daniel Landi and Ferando Garcia together as Comando G and respectively on their own merits are the most influential and leading vignerons in Spain today.
"These are among the most inspiring wines produced in Spain today."
“They seem to go from strength to strength and are getting closer to their goal with some of their wines achieving world-class status! One of the most exciting new projects not only in Gredos, but in the whole of Spain!” –Luis Gutierrez, The Wine Advocate
These two longtime friends from separate vine growing families have founded a wine revolution in Spain that has changed the perception and dynamics of Spanish wines. Their dedication to the vineyards of Gredos, revitalizing and planting in this harsh and challenging stone to boulder landen hills has redefined the glory of Garnacha, biodynamic and organic farming, and most importantly, site selection.
Simply put, what these two have achieved in just ten years is beyond amazing.
The Garnacha (Grenache) from Comando G and Daniel Landi are nothing short of magnificent and frankly among the greatest produced anywhere in the world today. Critically acclaimed and adored by the wine press, trade and consumers alike, we have heard people call Comando G the Rayas of Spain, while others compare the old vine Garnache of Landi to the equivalent of Grand Cru Burgundy, and yet others compare the wines to the greatest old-school whole cluster wines of the Northern-Rhone.
The truth is - Landi and Comando G are truly wines of themselves. Their quality is at the apex of what we are seeing in wine today; they are simply exceptional from the everyday bottles to the rare single vineyard expressions. The purity and character of Garnacha from the old vines and higher altitude vineyards that they farm belongs shoulder to shoulder with the greats of the world. These are wines of complexity and purity, the aromatics are intense and diverse, the textures are sensual and age-worthy. They possess the attributes of the best characteristics that we all look for in great wine.
Cheers,
