World’s Greatest Pinot Bianco
Epic Summer & Fall White Wine

Cantina Terlano / Kellerei Terlan is without question, Italy's finest cooperative for white wine. If Produttori del Barbaresco is the premier cooperative in western Italy, Terlano is the anchor of eastern Italy. Focused heavily on white wine, Terlano since 1893 has been the leading producer of Pinot Bianco (Pinot Blanc, Weissburgunder).

Sourced from the quartz and volcanic slopes of the Dolomites in Alto-Adige (South Tyrol), Terlano, much like the region, is a diverse mix of Austrian and Italian heritage. Here Pinot Bianco thrives as the mineral-rich slopes, bright sunshine and cool climate yield the ultimate expression of the grape. Texturally complex, medium to full body, with floral intensity, and purity of fruit, the Vorberg Riserva is the heart and core of Terlano for us.

While the Rarity Cuvees of the Cantina may be considered the top wines of the estate, it is the Vorberg Riserva that delivers the most consistency and is the foundation for the I Grande Cuvee and Rarity Cuvees, proving that Vorberg on its own is one of the most long-lived white wines produced for decades. Expressing longevity is a hallmark and compulsion at Terlano. It is heritage, it is part of the DNA of the vineyards and winery. While much is done at Terlano to study the effects of extended lees aging before bottling, it all begins with the quality of the vineyards and the grapes themselves. That is why Pinot Bianco and Vorberg have become the core and hallmarks of Terlano.

The quality and consistency of Vorberg Riserva these past 20 years is nothing short of exceptional. This is by far Alto-Adige’s premier white wine and ambassador of the region.

Did we mention that all of this heritage, depth, complexity and age-ability also comes at a price of only $47 per bottle! This is one of the great buys in all of Italy today.

Cheers,
Jeremy
