99pt Napa Valley Vintage Napa Valley’s 2018 Vintage is an overall phenomenal one that sits just below 2013 and 2016 for overall harmony. It is a vintage that yielded a tremendous amount of great Cabernet Sauvignon that truly showed the vineyard characteristics rather than a decadent and opulent Napa Valley generality. We are very happy to be able to offer a choice selection of 2018s that are in-stock today. With most 2019s already released, this year the anticipation of new releases is very low. With most properties typically scheduled to release the 2020 vintage, there is frankly very little wine to be had, if any at all. Most of Napa’s biggest names produced their tiniest amounts ever in 2020 if they were able to salvage anything of the vintage due to the massive fire destruction that ravaged Napa Valley. That is why we are looking back at the 2018s, a phenomenal vintage that has yielded wines of tremendous pedigree and character. 2018 Napa Valley Vintage Chart: Wine Spectator: 99 Points Vinous: 97 Points The below selection is full of unique and noteworthy wines. Dominus 2018 was Wine Spectator’s Wine of the Year in 2021 garnering #1 position on the famed Top 100. DuMol was one of the stars on Wine Enthusiast's Top 100 list for 2021 as well. And the late release 2018 Dunn Howell Mountain is once again just one of the best high quality wines of the vintage that still impresses for its affordability relative to its famed peer set. Not to mention, this wine is poised to last an eternity in your cellar! Cheers, |
