Vinous: 91-93 Points

From Lafarge's 85-year-old vines directly below Santenots-du-Milieu on shallower soils the 2022 Meursault Vendange Sélectionée has a more complex bouquet than the regular cuvée with subtle scents of orange pith quince and a touch of chamomile. This feels a little livelier than the Meursault Village edgy its rockier terroir lending greater live-wire tension towards the finish. Excellent. (Drink between 2025-2045)

Jasper Morris: 89-92 Points

Made from the top of Marcausse and Les Vignes Blanches older vines. Fresh pale lemon. A much finer bouquet than the regular Meursault. A whiff of fennel rather than the full liquorice. White fruit good energy levels citrus and fennel with a long finish.

Burghound: 89-92 Points

This is aromatically similar to the straight Meursault but with more floral elements that include carnation and lilac. On the palate the medium-bodied flavors are clearly denser with a beautifully textured caressing and seductive mouthfeel all wrapped in a sneaky long and impeccably well-balanced finale. This could use better depth but the underlying material is clearly present for that to occur in time. (Drink starting 2029)

Wine Advocate: 90-91 Points

The 2022 Meursault Vendanges Sélectionnées opens in the glass with aromas of white flowers citrus zest confit orange and nutmeg followed by a medium to full-bodied satiny and seamless palate that's bright and lively concluding with a saline finish. It's derived from vines just below Les Santenots. The 2022 vintage was showing well during my annual barrel tasting chez Lafarge emphasizing the charming pretty side of the year. The team began picking on August 26 another early harvest. As usual reds were destemmed in some cases manually and élevage is taking place in predominantly used barrels with the Lafarge's habitual racking with aeration. The result is wines with a resolutely old-school style that have a good track record of evolving gracefully in the cellar. Published: Jan 18 2024
