The 2022 Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Serpentières 1er Cru has an attractive nose superior to the previous vintage with brambly red berry fruit forest floor and a slight talcum scent. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins on the entry. It?s a lighter Savigny yet beautifully balanced with a sensual caressing finish. Drink after a couple of years in bottle. (Drink between 2026 - 2038)
A mildly toasty yet elegant nose freely reveals its aromas of violet plum dark currant and soft earth. The supple delicious and notably more finely textured though not as concentrated flavors also exude a subtle minerality on the lightly austere balanced and lingering finale. Note that while this has the potential to repay up to a decade of keeping it too should drink reasonably well on the early side if desired. (Drink starting 2029)
