Due to the Covid pandemic, the few professional critics that make the trip up to Cherisey did not during this release, and thus there are no reviews as of yet as the property does not submit bottles for off-site critic tastings.
The 2020 Vintage is classic Cherisey. That lean and aromatically intense style is in full force in 2020, with a nice round classic oily texture that is amplified in the finish with varying degrees of a stony and tart finish. These are truly special wines and now is the rare case to grab Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru in solid cases for under $150!

The 2016 Meursault 1er Cru Blagny La Pièce Sous Le Bois has a tightly wound bouquet with dewy green apple Cornice pear and light chalky scents that filter through with aeration. The palate is very well balanced the most saline of Chérisey?s 2016s with touches of blackcurrant leaf and spice furnishing the lively and complex finish. This felt quite mercurial in the glass and offers superb length and something cerebral a wine that really makes you think about what you just tasted. Superb.
