Jasper Morris: 93-96 Points
This comes from the plot just north of that belonging to the Hospices de Beaune and has been vinified as 100% whole cluster. Dark purple with a lighter rim. Seamless perfect ripeness of fruit. Then a little oak sweetness behind but builds up beautifully to a really long high class ripe summer pudding finish.
Burghound: 92-95 Points
A strikingly pretty and overtly floral nose is both cool and elegant while discreetly reveals its aromas of spicy dark berries. The powerful and tautly muscular broad-shouldered flavors brim with sappy dry extract while the intensely saline finish is chiseled and hugely long. This is outstanding though note well that it is very much built-to-reward extended patience.

The 2019 Pommard Les Rugiens 1er Cru has the finest bouquet of the four Pommards tasted the 100% whole cluster seamlessly integrated into the more black than red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle grip on the entry classic in style with touches of Earl Grey infusing the finish. Cohesive and very persistent this is an excellent and quite noble Les Rugiens. (Drink between 2024-2045)
