Cellar/Tasting Notes
March 6, Wednesday, 7:30PM at Morrell Wine Store
1 Rockefeller Plaza (49th St. btw 5th and 6th)
A selection of appetizers will be served.
Veuve Clicquot was the very first Champagne house to launch a rose, so it's a special pleasure for us at Morrell to hold a private tasting with Veuve Clicquot's Senior Winemaker and rose specialist, Cyril Brun. Born in Ay, in the heart of Champagne to a winemaking family, Cyril will guide guests through Veuve Clicquot's range, including the not-yet released Grande Dame 2004 and the rare Cave Privee Rose 1989 and the Veuve Clicquot 1996 Vintage Rose, served in magnums.
We'll pour:
Reception with Yellow Label Brut in Magnum
Veuve Clicquot Rose NV
Veuve Clicquot Rose 2004
Veuve Clicquot Rose 1996 in Magnum
Veuve Clicquot Cave Privée Rose 1989 in Magnum
Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame Rose 2004
The collective value of the wines served is over $1500.
Cyril is a deeply knowledgeable and engaging speaker. Guests can look forward to an entertaining and delicious evening.
To accompany the Champagne and show how well Veuve Clicquot Roses marry with food, we'll serve a selection of appetizers by Jake Klein, Chef at Morrell Wine Bar & Cafe.
