Cellar/Tasting Notes
The Mommessin Clos de Tart Grand Cru Monopole 2010 ... "Layers of deep, dark fruit nearly jump from the glass in this exotic, full-bodied Clos de Tart." Burghound (BH): 94 "A ripe but cool and highly complex nose of moderately wooded aromas of violets, cassis, black berry and anise hints. The superbly rich and velvety broad-shouldered flavors possess outstanding size, weight and mid-palate concentration that coats the palate with dry extract and enrobes the firm tannic spine to the point where it is more of a background element than usual. There is excellent energy and precision to the dusty, pure and driving finish." Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (RP): 94-96 "The 2010 Clos de Tart ... early tasting is fascinating. Layers of deep, dark fruit nearly jump from the glass in this exotic, full-bodied Clos de Tart. Crushed flowers, violets and spices develop over time as the wine gains its easy upper register. The tannins are very firm, but there appears to be more than enough fruit to provide balance. This is going to be a fascinating wine to follow over the coming years and decades ..." Stephen Tanzer (ST): 93-96 "... Good deep red. Highly complex aromas and flavors of candied raspberry, cherry, strawberry, mocha, cinnamon and pepper. Sweet, sappy and saline, with terrific inner-palate freshness and energy. Impressively rich, chewy wine with outstanding perfumed persistence. Leaves the taste buds vibrating." |
