This wine comes from vineyards Hâtes, which is just above the village of Santenay, which is attached to the Premiers Crus. The wine has an attractive dress purple ruby, with a medium depth and fresh aromas of raspberry and a lot of charm. The palate is fruity and round, with a beautiful finish that is sweet and refreshing. Delicious!
History of the Cuvee:
In April 2010, William D. FRIEDBERG donated to the Hospices de Beaune a parcel of appellation d’origine SANTENAY, of surface area 0.6 hectare and planted in Pinot Noir.
William D. Friedberg was, until recently, a wine importer in Boston, Massachusetts. He is a lover of the Burgundy region and of the wine auction of the Hospices de Beaune, at which he has been present for over 20 years, regularly participating in the bidding.
Through his generous gesture, he wishes to honor the memory of his wife, Christine, who departed in 2008 and was also a great lover of Burgundy. The production of this parcel of Santenay, which comes to enrich the viticultural heritage of the Hospices, will bear the name of “Cuvée CHRISTINE FRIEDBERG”.
