Cellar/Tasting Notes
The creation of Super Bowl-winning coach, Dick Vermeil and his winemaker Paul Smith, the 2008 vintage of the Jean Louis Vermeil Cabernet Sauvignon is a mouth-filling, plush Bordeaux style blend. Concentrated, with smooth tannins, it gives off waves of black cherry aromas and licorice flavors, well integrated with spicy oak. This is a red meat wine, fine to enjoy now or hold for 3–5 years in the bottle.
Commenting on Dick Vermeil's entry into winemaking, Robert Parker wrote: "This is the personal wine project of the Super Bowl-winning, renowned NFL head coach, Dick Vermeil. Vermeil was raised in Napa Valley and his initial dive into the wine world is impressive. It goes against the rule-of-thumb that celebrities rarely achieve anything special in the world of wine." |
