Cellar/Tasting Notes
Paul selects specific rows of grapes within this historic vineyard, which contribute to the wine’s formidable complexity and refinement. Its black garnet hues are resplendent with aromas of blueberry, currant, cocoa and wet slate. The palate is silky and rich, and powerfully charged with intense, finely sculpted layers of graphite and dark chocolate. The velvety mid-palate crescendos toward an endless finish graced with fine yet stately tannins. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (RP): 97 “Saturates every corner of the palate with layers after layers of rich dark fruit, mocha, spices and licorice. This is a stunning To Kalon endowed with tons of site-specific character and nuance..."
