The 2009 Detert Cabernet Sauvignon displays an enticing range of blackberry, cassis and mineral aromas. The palate is seductive - rich, dense and concentrated but also silky and smooth. Flavors of berry and cassis are layered with notes of baking cocoa and hints of black olive. Beautifully seamless mid-palate and incredibly long finish. The density, texture and finesse of this wine make for an incredible combination that is drinkable now but will certainly gain complexity for years to come.

"The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon isn't quite as sexy right now as the Cabernet Franc but it, too, has plenty of stuff going on. Juicy dark berries, cassis, spices, pencil shavings, licorice and mint all take shape in this generous, radiant, totally inviting wine. A dark, authoritative finish rounds things out in style. There is plenty of Oakville terroir in this beautifully delineated wine. The 2009 is 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc. "
