Raul Perez Vico 2008 is a perfect example of a clean, bright and pure Mencía wine. Vico is medium bodied, intense wine with the characteristic of a true Mencia: fresh acidity and tannis as well as aromas of mint or thyme and lush, dark fruit flavors.

"Inky ruby. Expressive aromas of dark berries, allspice and anise. Deeply pitched blackberry and bitter cherry flavors are enlivened by tangy acidity and pick up musky licorice and herbal notes with air. The spicy component returns on the fine-grained, incisive finish. This benefits from air: I'd give it at least a few more years of bottle age."

"Black cherry and blackberry flavors are ripe and juicy in this plush red, but bright acidity and light, firm tannins keep this focused. A modern style, balanced and lively."
