Cellar/Tasting Notes
AVAN Concentration is a wine instilled in value, beliefs and tradition.
AVAN, is NAVA written back to front. NAVA is the river passing through Fuentelcésped, it also gives its name to a parcel famous for its grapes, and finally NAVA is the patron saint of the village in which the wine is produced.
AVAN Concentration is all about the name as the concentration is all in the color, aromas and taste!
A cherry-red opaque colour, the wine has concentrated initial aromas of graphite, moss, soot, spice and wood which balance its elegant and subtle aromas.
On the palate, this wine has a great impact at the beginning, but its mature tannins and its creaminess convert it into a tamed, wide and tasty wine.
Stephen Tanzer (ST): 93 "Youthful violet color. Highly perfumed aromas of blackberry, cherry-cola and vanillin oak are complicated by star anise and potpourri. Enters with powerful dark fruit flavors and gains vivacity in the mid-palate, picking up notes of candied raspberry and spicecake. Densely packed but suave, finishing with excellent clarity, alluring sweetness and silky tannins." |
