Cellar/Tasting Notes
Domaine Du Castel's 2010 Petit Castel is a beautifully balanced blend of Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec, aged for 16 months in French oak barrels before bottling. The result is very Bordeaux-like -- dark ruby-purple in color, with notes of cedar, red berries and tobacco on the nose. On the palate it is structured, with a combination of good fruit, dried herbs, powdery tannins, a slight earthiness and a medium to long finish.
