Like all the Telmo Rodriguez wines from Toro, Dehesa Gago is 100% Tinto de Toro (the local clone of Tempranillo). Dehesa Gago is the wine Telmo has used to discover and understand the vineyards of Toro, a pure wine that showcases the fruit.
A full-bodied red that presents black fruits, notes of spice, violets, and licorice which are concentrated yet balanced, and finishes with intensity and length.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (RP): 90
"The 2011 Dehesa Gago eschews oak - the wine is just put in the tank and then racked. It has a straightforward bouquet of blueberry, red cherries and a touch of balsamic that is well-defined and 'pert.' The palate is quite succulent and primal on the entry with lush blueberry and cassis notes. It offers a pleasing, grainy texture with that balsamic note returning on the finish. Delightful."
