The Bayo Oscuro is Kingston Family's best Syrah. Inspired by a black stallion, Bayo's dark, powerful nature is true to its name. The vineyard typically makes less than 200 cases, and do not bottle it every year. Bayo Oscuro is worth the wait.
Typically boisterous and powerful, the 2009 Bayo Oscuro is elegant, pure and perfumed. Restrained on the palate, sweet and refined, with a freshness and seamlessness that is quite inviting. Made from a fairly early vintage it still has a purity of flavor and aroma that belies the fairly ripe vintage. Reminiscent of the fantastic 2009 California vintage for Syrah.

"Deep ruby. Powerful dark berry and cherry compote aromas are complicated by notes of cola, mocha and licorice, along with a smoky topnote. Lush and palate-coating, offering broad blackberry and blueberry flavors lifted by tangy acidity. Rich but lithe syrah, finishing with excellent clarity and lingering sweetness."

"Dark and fleshy, with alluring notes of anise, melted fig, boysenberry preserves and warm cocoa that stay poised and suave through the polished, lengthy finish."
