The 2009 Monprivato presents with a color of garnet red with orange-coloured highlights. The aromas are complex, very fruity, elegant, intense and spicy with flowery sensations. On the palate, the structure is excellent and exudes power and stuffing. It also emanates a masculine, demanding structure which is long and full.

"Detailed and fragrant, offering floral, strawberry, cherry, licorice and spice flavors, this is elegant and underlined by a strong mineral streak. Well-proportioned, picking up intensity and complexity on the long, savory finish. Extremely fresh and classy."
Antonio Galloni-Vinous (AG): 93-95
"The 2009 Barolo Monprivato impresses for its sheer balance. Nothing really stands out, instead it is the wine's overall harmony that speaks most clearly. This is going to be a fascinating vintage of Monprivato to follow. What will emerge over time? Will it be the personality of the year, or the pedigree of these poor, white soils? Time will tell."
