The 2005 Cinque Querce presents as intense ruby red but tends to garnet with age. The aromas of the wine are fine and fruity with aromas of dried plum, sour cherry, cocoa, tobacco and sweet spices. On the palate, the flavors are rich, soft, quite tasty and warm with soft tannins, intensity and a very long and pleasant finish.

"Molettieri's 2005 Taurasi Cinque Querce is one of the more youthful, extroverted Taurasis in this vintage. This dense, textured wine reveals plenty of dark red fruit in a full-bodied style that gains volume and depth in the glass. Hints of cured meats, tobacco tar smoke, ash and earthiness appear on the finish, but this remains an intense Taurasi in need of serious bottle age before it begins to reveal the full breadth of its character. Simply put, this is is awesome juice!"
