This wine has a rich and brilliant garnet-red colour with a perfume that is intense and structured evoking scents of tobacco, spices and fruit. The mouth is really full and well balanced with strong body. Only after a few months in the bottle this wine already shows its grandness, complexity and elegance that will gradually increase over time.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (RP): 92
"The 2004 Barbaresco S. Stefanetto (from vines in Treiso) is a firm, yet generous wine endowed with notable purity and depth in its dark, sensual fruit. Truffles, worn-in leather, spices and menthol round out this harmonious, beautifully balanced Barbaresco. Though undeniably attractive today, the wine will benefit from another year or two in bottle to help soften the tannins, but it is already delicious."
Wine Spectator (WS): 91
"Aromas of blackberry and cherriy, with hints of fresh flowers, lead to a full-bodied palate, with ultrafine tannins and a long, fruity finish. All in balance."
