Garnet red with orange reflections; intense, persistent bouquet; full-bodied, austere and velvety on the palate, with long finish of goudron and spice. In time, the wine is fine-tuned to greater and greater complexity, acquiring notes of truffles and leather. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (RP): 94 "The 2007 Barolo Costa Grimaldi is fabulously rich, dense and well-balanced in this vintage. The Costa Grimaldi is made from a parcel of the Via Nuova vineyard in Barolo at 350 meters above sea level with a sheltered south-east exposure that provides respite in warmer years.
