The late Gianni Brunelli believed in capturing the beauty and generous elements his beloved Montalcino in a bottle. He was successful in doing so and the 2004 Brunello is a true gem that is a testament to his belief.
The complexity of a great Brunello is delivered on the palate along with the full, ripe character structure. The initial aromas of black cherry and plum are prominent along with the subtle aromas of spices and herbs.

"The 2004 Brunello di Montalcino is a pretty, fragrant wine. Initially rather reticent, this medium-bodied Brunello needs some aeration for its perfumed red cherry fruit to open up in the glass. The wine offers good intensity and depth, but needs at least a few years in bottle for the tannins to soften. There is a somewhat rustic soul to this wine but at the same time a genuineness I find appealing. With some time in the glass, the wine turns into a gem.. This terrific effort from Brunelli insures his legacy will live on."

"Wonderfully floral, raspberry and cherry character follows through to a full body, with fine tannins, and a chewy finish. Tight and structured, with bright acidity. Best wine ever from here."
