" ...elegant, velvety wine with dense red fruits, cocoa and spice. "
The Bric Balin 2008 presents with aromas of fine, complex, fruity aromas as well as sweet spices and vanilla. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, rich, warm, harmonious, quite tannic and with good persistence.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (RP): 94
"The 2008 Barbaresco Bric Balin wafts from the glass with crushed flowers, dried cherries, tobacco and cedar. It is less overt than the Basarin, with the structural components playing a greater role in the wine’s balance. The energy and focus here are both attractive, while the oak seems to have come down, all of which adds up to a wine with terrific overall balance..."

"Good full red. Mellow aromas of raspberry, mocha and camphor. Big, rich and broad, with a refined texture and more dimension than the Basarin. With air, this seemed sappier and more filled in on the palate. Good strong wine, finishing with substantial dusty tannins. I like the integration of oak here. The most backward of these 2008s, which come across as a bit less muscular than the 2009s"
"Very ripe plum and hints of vanilla on the nose. Full body, with velvety tannins and an attractive finish of lightly toasted oak and ripe fruit. Needs another year or two of bottle age."
