A Morrell Discovery. Marcato Cabernet Franc is one of the most food-friendly wines we have ever come across; hugely popular at the Morrell Wine Bar & Cafe. It's got a spicy nose of white pepper and fresh tomatoes wrapped by bright red cherry fruit; a real find! Cab Franc is the new 'in' grape.
Given the quality, it’s no surprise that Marcato is still a family concern, run by brothers Lino and Giovanni Marcato and Lino’s sons. Based in the Berici Hills east of Verona, they use a careful mix of traditional and modern techniques to cultivate and vinify their wines. The result is a Cab Franc with freshness, spice and well-developed fruit - testaments to meticulous winemaking. |
