Cellar/Tasting Notes
Wonderfully focused, concentrated Sauvignon Blanc grown in vineyards rich in Kimmeridgian clay. The wine is layered with stoney, citrusy fruit and packed with intense minerality. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (RP): 91-92 "Tasting the components that would become the Dagueneau 2011 Pouilly-Fume Les Pentes (and which includes fruit from some rows of Le Romain, the estate’s sole flint-inflected site, on the remarkably preserved, flint-paved Roman road at the northern edge of Pouilly), it’s clear that this cuvee will be exceptional for its vintage. The lush, ripe pit fruit; luscious citrus; and wafting floral perfume that characterized “the rest” of the material that will become this year’s Tradition cuvee here display additional intensity, accompanied by piquant nut oils, oyster liquor, and shrimp shell reduction, making for a deep, saliva-liberating savor. For all of its richness, this delivers ample refreshment, while evincing a remarkable sense of buoyancy. Look to have a wonderful time with this beauty over the next 3-4 years." |
